We’ve got some very exciting news: Pora Ora are launching on Kickstarter!
We’ve loved creating Pora Ora, but we feel the time has come to move on from our Beta site. We’re ready for the next stage but we need your help!
Kickstarter is a crowd funding site where we are hoping to raise $100,000 by offering fabulous rewards for our pledgers. We’re putting the power in your hands. We’ve learned a great deal from our Beta site, largely thanks to our amazing users and teachers who have offered invaluable feedback, but we’re ready to move on.
Reaching our target will allow us to create a brand new Egyptian themed world. With the lure of exploring the pyramids, users will be able to gorge on even more educational goodies with new games, quests and characters. The Kickstarter money will also allow us to create two exciting apps; a parent portal app and a Pora Pal app. Children will be able to care for their beloved Pora Pal on the go, making sure their Pora Pal stays happy through acquiring knowledge and playing games. The parent portal app will allow parents to track their child’s progress and offer in-game rewards on the go. We also have some new Pora Pals that we would love to introduce into the game, but we need to reach our target to make this happen.
We’ve even got stretch goals in case we go over our target! These include developing tools to enable kids to create their own worlds in Pora Ora which they could share with friends. We would also love to create a coding game, helping to make children more ICT literate.
We’ve got so much to offer our pledgers from workbooks, concept artwork, t-shirts, apps and even the chance to be a statue in Pora Ora. We need to hit our target by 28 July, or we go home empty handed. Please help us to spread the message, by tweeting, emailing, texting, blogging, or telling your friends on facebook.
